Hildreth Schoolhouse Walk to the Upper Charles
Rail Trail Connection.

Saturday May 23, 2026 at 9:00 am.

Seth Molloy will lead the walk from the Hildreth Reservation on Western Avenue to a little-known connection to the Upper Charles Rail Trail. Please park in the Fessenden Fields parking lot or on the Pleasant Street shoulder just off Western
Avenue. Head to the trailhead next to Fessenden fields. Upon finishing, we’ll have cars to return you to your cars. The walk will be 1-1/2 to 2 hours and will involve crossing a brook. All ages welcome, since there are multiple ways to safely cross the brook
The walk is in Trail #2 in the Sherborn Walks book to locate the red line trail that links to the popular Upper Charles Rail Trail in Holliston and Sherborn. And it’s your chance to explore the Hildreth Schoolhouse network of trails and to cross the mighty Dopping Brook
on foot. The walk winds through woods and gas line “pastures.”
